    Awesome giant constructivist iPhone sculpture:

Russian art collective and electronics hacker group Electroboutique created this giant iPhone Monument to 3G (image left) inspired by Tatlin’s Tower (image right), a Constructivist monument designed in 1920 but sadly never built. From the artist statement:

Tatlin’s work is considered one of the avant-garde icons, whereas iPhone is a bright techno-consumerist icon of today. Back in the 20′s of the last centuries avant-garde artists have invented design as a way to bring art into people’s homes. During the 20′s century designers were gradually taking artistic ideas and implementing them into product design. Today we see companies claiming their products are art objects themselves; art has to re-define its role in the society again. The Monument to 3G links together the beginning and the current state of nearly a century of art-to-design dialogue and follows the strategy of re-claiming the designers’ ideas back into art.

    iPhone Killer

    Posted in: iPhone

This is really funny and actually true! We have an official iPhone Killer finally!

Well, it could be used to kill not only iPhone, but other things like people or even help you when you are renovating your house – LOL

    Ronen Kadishin’s ‘iPhonekiller’ is a laser-cut 25mm steel hammer. The plans are open-source. Here’s the artist’s statement:

The iPhonekiller is a statement about current tech products and personalities status , worshiped by the media and public, along with my possibilities to react and criticize that in a humorous way, with an Open Design. Price upon request.

A video surfaced today of the next generation iPhone 4G … this time from Vietnam! Unless you speak the language, you may not get the commentary attached to it, nevertheless it is a well presented video of the device which most us hope to see in Apple Stores sometime in June (other leaks are pointing to June 21st, 2010 as a potential release date). You can find out more about the latest speculations about the phone on Engadget here.

    The next iPhone

    Posted in: iPhone

Based on the post from TechCrunch today, called: Early Adopters, Rejoice: AT&T Begins Rolling Back Upgrade Eligibility Dates For The Next iPhone, it looks like the new iPhone is coming on June 21, 2010 as we all expected by now. Since I am 2 years into my contract by August of this year, I am planning on upgrading my  current – old and very much used and abused by now – original iPhone 3G. They have unmasked this from AT&T in the US:

Okay, I’ve got big news. Really – you’re going to want to sit down for this one. Ready? Apple.. is going to release a new iPhone this year. Probably next month.

Why is your jaw not dropping? Sure, Apple releases a new iPhone every year in June — and sure, the next iPhone has already played a pivotal part in a massive scandal that resulted in a police raid on a blogger’s house. But.. but..

Fine. At this point, a new iPhone announcement in June isn’t really a surprise. It’s more of a tradition — and this year, it looks like AT&T is getting ready a bit early.

This is simply fantastic video! It shows the creative power of a mobile device like the iPhone, simple – yet beautiful!

XIAO GE ER from Mario Cavalli on Vimeo.

Just got email from Mario Cavalli, English moving image director.

According to Mario, XIAO GE ER may be the first music video shot entirely on a (non-video) iPhone 3G.
In addition happy thing to me is that all images are taken with my app QuadCamera! Its really fun to see. :-)

This video XIAO GE ER is included in the Akira Kosemura’s forthcoming album Grasslands. Video is directed by Mario Cavalli
