Jean-Yves Blondeau aka Rollerman created a 31 wheel roller suit which he races down mountain roads. The wearer can use the suit to skate in a variety of positions, from standing to lying flat. Blondeau has been developing the suit since 1994. Pretty incredible stuff… I would not want to loose any of these wheels while sliding down the mountain road.

Just in time for the holidays! “Snow Globe Los Angeles” is a short time-lapse film that captures the city of L.A. during the holiday season. “Snow Globe Los Angeles” was created using over 4000 still images shot on a custom built camera rig. The effect was achieved using a Canon 5D MII, a homemade tilt-shift style lens, a light bulb filled with water, and paper cut outs to create shaped bokeh.

Broadly considered a brand that inspires fervour and defines cool consumerism, Apple has become one of the biggest corporations in the world, fuelled by game-changing products that tap into modern desires. Its leader, Steve Jobs, was a long-haired college dropout with infinite ambition, and an inspirational perfectionist with a bully’s temper. A man of contradictions, he fused a Californian counterculture attitude and a mastery of the art of hype with explosive advances in computer technology.

Insiders including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, the chairman who ousted Jobs from the company he founded, and Jobs’ chief of software, tell extraordinary stories of the rise, fall and rise again of Apple with Steve Jobs at its helm.

With Stephen Fry, world wide web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee and branding guru Rita Clifton, Evan Davis decodes the formula that took Apple from suburban garage to global supremacy.

Cool Hunting Video Presents: Bentley from Cool Hunting on Vimeo.

During a recent trip to England we were invited to tour Bentley’s factory in Crewe and had the chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at how these luxury powerhouses are put together from start to finish. The hands-on plant offered a wildly different experience than other car manufacturing processes we have seen and, by relying on a level of manual precision machines can’t always replicate, provided a fascinating example of the merge of technology and craftsmanship in creating truly luxurious custom automobiles.

Time-Lapse of chaotic traffic in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam:

British photographer Rob Whitworth created this wonderful time-lapse of the manic traffic in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Everyone who has visited Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam knows part of the magic (love it or hate it) is in the traffic. Ever since I first set foot in HCMC I have been captivated by the cities energy. Saigon is a city on the move unlike anything I have experienced before which I wanted to capture and share. via Co.Exist

Finding Oregon is the compilation of six months of timelapse photography across the state of Oregon, punctuated by a 1600 mile road trip in September. We’ve filmed the Columbia River Gorge, Mt Hood, Mt Jefferson, the Southwestern Coast, the Alvord Desert, Leslie Gulch, Blue Mountains, Crater Lake, Eagle Cap Wilderness, Deschutes River, and more. We’re proud to have touched all four corners of the state; however Oregon is the kind of place that the more you see, the more places there are to still discover.

“As Above, So Below” is an impressive video projection that was mapped on the Manhattan Bridge in DUMBO, Brooklyn during the September DUMBO Arts Festival.

With equipment and technical support sponsored by Senovva, Inc., we set out to create a one of a kind public art experience, a projection mapping installation for multiple surfaces and multiple dimensions.

Unfolding like an animated modern Botticelli painting, flowing above our heads and spreading outwards
in every direction, “As Above, So Below” immersed viewers in the architecture of the Manhattan Bridge. Audiences physically entered the story and explored the shimmering surface as it ignited with messages and symbols.

This originally conceived video mapping project was a challenge offered to a group of artists from varying backgrounds. Led by digital arts pioneers Farkas Fulop and Ryan Uzilevsky, with post production support by Sina Taherkhani, the group created a one-of-a-kind experience. Utilizing 25,000 square feet of animation, and ultimately winning “Best In Show” at the Dumbo Arts Festival. Also participating in the group were artists Simon Anaya, John Parker, Richard Jochum and Johnny Moreno.

This production tested every technique in image-making conceivable in the short time frame, including stop motion animation, and the suspension of over twenty performance artists from fly wires at sixteen feet off the ground.

Leo Kuelbs is responsible for securing the site and bringing the original team together. He also put together a great international video art showcase between screenings of “As Above, So Below.”

    Phantom camera: $100000 VS. Canon 550D T2i: $760

I used a Canon 550D T2i to create a Phantom camera look, but with a much lower budget. All I used was my 550D, my lens and Twixtor.
Of course the Phantom camera makes better results, but compared with the prices, I think Twixtor is totally worth a try.
